Day at Sea

Team Trivia is held when the ship sails from one port to the next - a Sea Day. Competition on the first day provided a foreshadowing of the the bloodsport that this activity would become as the cruise progressed. The Pond Hoppers team was captained by my 14-year-old nephew, Ross. He led us to first place on day One much to the surprise of our competitors.

Taromina, Sicily

Mount Etna puffed in the distance but no worries, we were told. A smoky and rumbling warning of several weeks USUALLY precedes an eruption. Another daunting local history note, scenes from the movie "The Godfather" were filmed here. A beautiful view of the harbor and the volcano were just a few of the rewards for surviving the trip up the winding road to the village of Naumachina.

Reflections of Monte Carlo

Fabulously overdone architecture, cars and people. Gamblers with nice cars (Bentleys, Lamborghinis and classic Porsches) park in front of Monte Carlo's world-famous casino. Yugos and SmartCars are stashed in the underground parking ramp beneath this modern sculpture.

Wornout over evening wear

Getting ready for Monte Carlo and beyond is a challenge!
Shopping for evening wear is not one of my favorite pastimes.
I have no doubt, the search will continue until the last bloody moment.
